Dear delegates,

It is an honor to welcome you to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) committee. My name is Mana Kawakami and I will have the privilege of serving as your President throughout this debate. It’s also a pleasure to introduce my fellow members of the chair; your Moderator, Homero Garza López, who will be leading the debate and your Conference Officer, Nathaly Cruz Méndez, who will be assisting with the organization of the discussions. 

We encourage you to actively participate in the debate, and we hope you will approach each topic with empathy and responsibility. Our principal goal is for you to explore and propose creative and useful solutions to the issues presented, which also will help you to develop your public speaking, research skills-tools and negotiation, that will benefit you in the future.  

We are confident that, given de Level Two status of this committee, we will be able to witness impactful contributions from each of you. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us, we are here to support and guide you.
